First Australian swine flu patient dies

SWINE flu remains mild in Australia and most people infected make a rapid and full recovery, the Federal Government has said after a man confirmed with the virus died. 

Federal Health Minister Nicola Roxon tonight issued a statement after the death of a 26-year-old West Australian man in an Adelaide hospital.

The man had tested positive to the influenza A(H1N1) virus yesterday while suffering from a long-term serious medical condition, Ms Roxon said.
