4th June:tiananmen square

 Thousands of people were converging Thursday on a park in Hong Kong to mark the 20th anniversary of the bloody crackdown on pro-democracy protesters in Tiananmen Square.

The gathering marks the sole commemoration on Chinese soil of a dark chapter in the country’s history.

The candlelight vigil will be held as authorities in mainland China step up controls on media and Internet news and social networking sites.
