Doing it tough…?

ON THE GOLD COAST In Old Brookville, a seven-bedroom colonial sold in August for $5 million, 10 percent below the asking price. It was on the market for 40 days.

SURREAL as this may seem in light of the current turmoil in the financial markets, luxury home prices were up in Nassau County for the first eight months of this year. At the top of the market, particularly in communities along the North Shore, home shoppers with deep pockets have still been buying their dream houses, seemingly unaffected by economic doldrums

At least so far, “the Gold Coast is still the Gold Coast,”
